how do I make unity run faster on my computer
unity takes 1-2 minutes to edit something in the editor, for more computer-nerdy guys (with respect) the disk on my computer is running 100% and the memory at about 30% and my CPU about 20-0%, my disk memory is not full. unity editor is taking the most of everything.
i have worked with unity with pcs with really really slow HDDs (5400rpm) without issues so whats making the disk go full must be something else. you need to find whats making your disk run at 100%, maybe reinstaling windows if you cant find the issue or buying a better disk (arround 40 euros a decent ssd)
again, my disk is not full, just running at full speed. i am using a school computer, so I cannot buy a new disk (i am broke). and am just looking for how to make unity run faster
What is using your disk bandwidth? Have you tried looking in task manager /activity monitor or equivalent?

If you have Unity Hub installed, try to close it while running the editor. Kill all not essential processes related to the Hub in task manager. Check in settings if you run local cache server and disable it if yes. Set quality settings for stand alone player to lowest possible in quality settings.
how do you set the quality settings for the stand alone player?
Edit => Project Settings => Quality
Works for me. It worked for me, I uninstalled the Hub and no longer had problems with computer slowdowns.
