Is Python 2.6.2 and Blender 2.49b supported?
I know it's an old version but given that there have not been any real changes to the blender 3D game engine since 2.49b and that blender 2.8 may not even have a working GE, many blender game devs still use 2.49b and aim to use unity for publishing.
because blender 2.49b uses Python 2.6.2 I have to ask if 249b .blend files are supported in unity? further more what aspects are supported? :
logic bricks(properties, movement, sensors (ray, collision), overlay, underlay, keyboard, mouse etc.), python scripts, models, UV mapping, sounds files, Shape Keys, IPO curves?
What about blender specific programming for changing data or reading data from logic bricks?
can this be supported if it's not already? and can support be maintained (not removed in future Unity versions))?,I know it's outdated, but given that there have been no major changes to the blender3d Game Engine since 2.49b (which uses python 2.6.2/2.7) and that the current blender build (2.8) may not even have a working GE.
This means a lot of blender game devs still use blender 2.49b and python 2.7ese.
Does unity support python 2.6.2 scripting if python 2.6.2 is installed on the machine? if not can it be made to do so?
Also are blender 2.49b models, rigging, UV maps, Shape keys, material settings and Logic bricks supported (including the blender specific python for the logic brick controls)?

The Blender Game Engine and Unity are two entirely separate game engines and are not compatible in any way. If you want to use Unity you'll simply export models in .FBX format which will lose most Blender specific features you listed. You only retain the very basic things listed in the exporter like bones, animations, and shape keys. You can use .blend files, however they are simply exported as .FBX files in the back ground and usually not very well. It also takes longer than just manually exporting .FBX.
You might be interested in UPBGE which is a fork of the Blender Game Engine still being worked on and may make it's way into 2.8 as well. Keep in mind it's a different group of developers handling it so it may deviate from the way you are used to using the 2.49 BGE. https://upbge.org/
