Terrain size in professional game like COD?
How much terrain size would a game like COD have and how it run so smooth because I made a forrest in unity with terrain size 2000*2000 and it was running super slow even on low graphics quality(tried it on a pc which run far cry 5 in 60 fps on medium graphics quality). so plz any suggestions or something, what am i doing wrong and what should i do to make it run smoothly? (I'm working on an fps game like COD)
well mostly it does matter what props you have. if you have like 5000 trees on your terrain, i’d expect a medium to slow performance if you don’t have a highend pc.. that’s because the trees are dynamic with wind and stuff. if you have a look at AAA games like cod, rainbow six and stuff.. there are not alot trees around so i’d recomend you to make alot of billboard trees with low vertecies counts. and place them behind the high polygon trees / in the unreachable area of your terrain
