iOS high memory textures
We're close to launch for our game and I'm just doing some optimising. There's some crashing because memory is hitting the 500mb mark.
I've noticed the biggest cause for this is sprites. Texture type - Sprite(2D and UI)
In particular I have a sprite which consumes 4.0mb in the profiler for android, 17mb for platform iOS in Unity but in Import settings it reads 2.0mb.
The only thing I can do to lower the size of this texture is lower the resolution, crunch compression and compression - Low Quality doesn't seem to affect the overall size. Format is greyed out.
Is there anything else you can do with Sprite(2D and UI) types to lower the file size. Also what is the reason for the file size discrepancies between platforms?
