Lightmap information taking too long to load on playtesting and executable
This is something I've been struggling with for a while. Even when I had a low poly scene the lightmap information took 10 seconds to kick in once the game level loaded. We are working on a student collab project and we have a start menu, how to play, and a load screen, but the lightmap information does not load until after you start proper gameplay. We have used both Realtime Global Illumination and Mixed Lighting in an attempt to solve this. I've also set occlusion settings in hopes of reducing the initial load which made no impact on the lightmap loading slowly in gameplay.
To be clear I am not addressing the long lightmap bake, but rather the delay in the lightmap kicking in during play test and within the executable.
