How do I import a platformer level into Unity?
I'm very new to Unity and want to try out making a 2D platformer. I have already used a separate paint editor to create some basic levels and tried to import them into Unity as sprites. However, the level is irregularly shaped (since there are platforms) but Unity is interpreting the shape as a rectangle, which means collision doesn't work.

If the level is like this where the x's represent solid platforms, if the player sprite falls down on the right side of the level, they will stop moving and collide with the object at the top of the rectangular object boundary, at the point labelled P.
How do I fix this so objects are imported as their actual shape and not a rectangle that fits all the shape into a boundary?
