Samsung s6 and pixel devices overheating within a few minutes
Our app has a home scene and a video player scene and runs on gearvr, daydream and cardboard platforms. We've been facing overheating issues on samsung s6 and pixel and after testing we found that the app overheats during the video playback scene. I have tried switching to a low poly video sphere, disabling anti-aliasing and script optimizations.
The OVR CPU/GPU levels are set to 0 and vsync is set to 2 for the video scene. Unity version is 5.4.2f2. We are working on upgrading to 5.6 as this is a fairly big project and it still has overheating issues on 5.6 as well.
Attaching our profiler shots here: renderer Since I can't attach more images I'm listing the quality settings below: 1. Tex quality - Full Res 2. Anisotropic textures - disabled 3. Anti-aliasing - 2 4. Shadows - disabled 5. Vsync count - don't sync
I've looked up oculus forums and they suggested updating OVR sdk but that still doesn't fix the daydream build. Does anyone have any suggestions or know how to fix this ?
