Copyrighted game templates in Asset Store?
Hi! I made a replica of the game called Dash Valley, and I wanted to publish it to the asset store. It is declined, and here is the why: "We do not take packages that are direct recreations of existing games as template projects.." "We will accept a functional gameplay mechanic, but not the full recreation of a copyrighted game. If you remove the art content and only display the gameplay mechanic, we may reconsider the package for the Asset Store." So I made another game replica called Spikes, and I changed the background, the scoring system, the character, the UI elements and the menu. The game mechanics are the same. I tried to publish it, but the answer was the same. In the Asset Store there are a lot of copyrighted game's replicas, and it seems to me that those are exactly like the original games but the score is not at the left side, it's on the right side, the background is not exactly like in the original for example. This is the only difference. The question is: What exact changes should I make to make my game templates accepted? Thank you for you answers! Best regards, Ragendom
