Working with a 2d movement in a sidescoller style?

So a friend talked me in to doing some scripts for a 2d game but i am unfamiliar with 2d movement and he is being very specific. Can some help do a script for 2d movement with these specification: a double jump a crawl like movement moment based jump a sprint system base on double taping a direction
