Good and free 2D Animation Software
HI, I am looking for a good 2D Sprite Animation Software to create Sprites like in Warioland 4/ Battleheart etc. I'm currently working with Pixen, but I think it's kind of hard to create smooth animations, because there are several tools lacking like rotating things just some degrees. I heard about the keyframe method, which sounded quite interesting, does someone know a good tool?

May i suggest Photoscape and paint, use paint to make sprites, then photoscape to animate, even maye gamemaker 8, just save the file. or, if you go to the eclipse mmo engine and search there, you are sure to get a ton of suggestions, i know there one i found thhat way, but i cannot remember the program url, i think its called sprite creator, easy to use.
Sprite creator seems to be only for CSS Models :S
I use Gamedev Animation Studio to animate sprites. This tool interpolate the animation between keyframes by various characteristics of sprite. This is a very handy tool when you want to animate the sprite using method dissimilar to sprite-sheet
