How to properly light interiors
Hello guys,
I'm trying for some days to find a proper way to light my house interior. I tried all kinds of methods and combinations but all seem to come out short.
I tried to use dual-lightmaps + point lights the result was that the point lights still influenced the lightmap so I would lose quality anyway + lightmap has around 350 Mb.... I tried only the lightmap, but then I have no lights for the dynamic objects. I can't use the directional light as it is blocked by the walls and ceiling. Using only point lights seems to slow the game in forward rendering. Right now I'm trying to work out only with the ambient light, but it's pretty simple and blunt since I have only one light color and intensity throughout the level.
Can you guys please give me some advices or point me out to articles describing what to do in order to create good interior lighting?
Thank you.
