Extinguish a Fire Particle System Using Game Object or Particle System Collisions
I am creating a fire extinguisher system the player uses to put out fires. Both the water spray and the flames are particle systems, and now I need them to interact. The two options I can think of are putting a collider on the fire and either turning collision on for the spray or spawning an invisible collider that follows the path of the spray. The invisible collider following the spray seems more performant and controllable because I'm worried about the efficiency of the large number of spray particles colliding, but I don't know how to make an object follow a particle system's trajectory. Can anyone please advise me on either method or another idea?
You can duplicate your spray particle system but with much lower emission rate, enable trigger module and use “none” render mode. Optionally you may generate a random uint and share it to the seeds of the 2 particle systems so they have the exact same pattern.
