How to implement a simple dialogue system and disable movement/shooting?
So, I have a tutorial scene for an FPS I'm currently working on. As soon as I play the game I would like a dialogue box to appear stating some text but at the same time I don't want to be able to move or shoot and only use my mouse button to navigate through the dialogue boxes so is there any way to write a script to disable my movement + shooting and have a dialogue box appear on screen, thank you

There are two ways you can go about implementing this. You can disable, or essentially lock inputs, or you can perform a complete pause. To pause (simplest option), just set Time.timeScale to 0. To Lock, implement a game manager class that disables the two components relevant to movement, and enable them via a button event. Hope it helped!
