Migrating User Accounts Mac OS X - MonoDevelop Error

I have noticed when migrating with migration assistant on Mac OS X to a new machine you may find that if your user 'Short name' - known as 'Account Name' in OS X Lion - is different from what it used to be, then MonoDevelop will give you an error that it cannot find your Users/YourOldUserName directory, and quit.

You can fix this issue by simply creating a Soft Symbolic Link to the previous short name in Terminal. Launch Terminal by selecting Finder, then press Command-Shift-U to open the Utilities folder, and press T to select terminal, and Command-O to launch.

Write the following command -

sudo ln -s newusername oldusername

you will be asked to enter your password and then this will create the link between your old username and new username. Simply relaunch MonoDevelop and this will solve the error.
