Build Issues on Windows Standalone
Hello, I am a Game Programming student and I recently got a summer internship at a non-game based manufacturing company doing some programming and building some basic things for them. They asked me to build them an app for one of their departments and so I finally got it working the way that they wanted, using Unity. It only keeps track of different inputs and projects some time values using DateTime and TimeSpan. In actuality, the "game" is nothing more than 8 different scenes that only use UI elements. As I said, just got working perfectly in the editor and it all runs as expected (or close enough to for the first iteration) to be deployed and allow some of our operators to demo it, and see what tweaks and changes they'd like to make.
That being said, I built it as a Windows standalone application that I put on a flash drive and opened on an HP Pro X2 which comes with Windows 10, the same OS that I built the application on. And only half of the "game" works as expected. I have 8 panels that keep track of processes within a certain department. Each panel takes the user to a separate but identical screen that corresponds to the number of a Bay Area. Each Bay Area is where one of these processes can happen and there is literally nothing different about these Bays other than the number it is assigned.
SO my issue is this: when I run the "game" in the editor, works like a charm. When I build it and run it on either the laptop I developed on or the HP Pro X2's only the first 3 Bays work as expected. This is mind-boggling to me because the code is essentially just copied and pasted from the previous Bay and I simply had to change the name of Tags to match the current Bay number. There is nothing else that can interfere with this, which is why it works perfectly in the editor. So something must be happening in the conversion or compression process that is throwing off my app. I have no idea why this is happening and I am hoping that someone can give me some guidance as to how to make this damned thing work properly.
Thank you and I appreciate any help or direction you can give me! I've tried looking on the forums for similar issues and nothing seems to sound quite similar.
