[Optimization] - Is "Generate Physics shape", in Import settings, necessary for UI?

Hi, sorry if this is maybe a stupid question but,


I was searching about how the option "Generate physics shape" works in Import settings when importing an image to my project and I have found nothing about if it's necessary for UI elements like buttons and raycasted elements or it's just for 2D colliders.


So, in my case, if I import an image for my UI that represents something that it's not a button or something static on screen can I disable this option at import time?

the regular uGUI system is not physics based, so it's a 2D collider. but you can also just check it yourself using it as such.

If you use the "is raycast target" in UI-elements, then in that case generate physics shape isn't necessary.
