2D circle flashlight effect (top down) that fades out
In my game I'm trying to create a 2D flashlight effect that should work like this:
when not touching/clicking the background is total black (game scenario is behind this black background)
when clicking somewhere on the screen you are able to see the scenario in a circle (where the player clicked) (preferable a circle with fading edges)
After the clicking has happened the circle fades back to black
I could realise the above by using a black image with a transparant hole combined with another black image (so I can make the fade effect by changing the black images opacity)
The part which I can't create using the above method: The flashlight effect circles should be stackable (a second later clicked spot should be lit up and overlap another spot which was clicked before and was dimming to full black). I tried messing around with masks but can't seem to get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated ! The image should clearify what I mean :)
