Why is my backup not working?
I am kind of lost. I made a backup of my unity project. I just copied the whole project folder (including Assets, Library, ProjectSettings, ect.). Then I worked on my original project folder, trying out a new plugin. As expected things went terribly wrong and another plugin stopped working.
So I wanted to go back to initial state. To do so I deleted the original folder, copied the backup folder, renamed it to the original and loaded the project. To my surprise, even with the initial state, the plugin that stopped working, is still not working.
How can that be? Was my assumption wrong, that I can copy the whole folder? Anything I miss?
A little more details. The plugin that stopped working is firebase remote config. It works fine in the editor, but not on the device anymore. No error, no nothing. It just breaks the function as soon as I call any firebase-function. Also my project is very fragile. I am working on Unity 5.5.4p4. Upgrade to a newer version is not an option. Thus I cannot use the auto resolver function. Indeed the auto resolver function is my personal enemy. Everytime I us it, I have to invest many hours to manually fix files that does not work with my Unity version.
Anyway, those are just details. The main question is, why is my backup not working.
