Does SteamVR plugin 2.5.0 (sdk 1.8.19) (current) have haptic issues on the RiftS?

I'm just going through a tutorial on importing SteamVR into a fresh project. The Player prefab works fine for me, but the moment I add the Teleporting prefab to the Hierarchy and run the game, my controllers just vibrate constantly and the hand tracking stutters very badly.

I've seen something similar occur in Serious Sam TFE/TSE VR, which is making me think there is some kind of issue with haptic feedback on the Rift S controllers and SteamVR.

Does anyone else have this issue?
