Creating AssetBundles outside the Unity Editor.
I've seen this question asked multiple times, but never in the last 5 years, so I'm wondering whats the state of the problem.
To be more precise: The idea is to allow the user to use objects (like videos, 3d objects, animations of the 3d objects) in the Unity app without having to change the app itself.
From my experience with Unity the only way to do that is to upload the wanted content on to a server and then fetch it during run-time with classes like WWW. From the reasearch I've done the best way to fetch this type of data is by fetching AssetBundles.
