Question by danmoople · May 25, 2017 at 05:40 AM · multiplayerservermultiplayer-networkingbackend

What backend technology should I use for Unity mobile game?

Hello everyone. I want to create multiplayer game for mobile devices. There is going to be matchmaking. (You press 'Play' button and it will automatically find an opponent for you with the same level and stats as yours) I have never had backend experience before. I've found a lot of solutions: GameSparks, photon, UNET, node.js + socket.io So what should I use? I want to have IAP and database support. Thanks in advance.

Hi Danmoople,

I've provided below a tutorial which will educate you of how to create a mobile game using Parse technology. The example provided shows how to create a Pokemon Go similar game using this technology. Hope it helps. :)

Hi Danmoople,

I've provided some links below that you may find useful when considering using GameSparks for the back end of your game. GameSparks is a Unity Asset Store partner that you can use for Matchmaking, IAP and it has Database Support with MongoDB.

GameSparks is completely free to evaluate, so you can check us out without any commitment. We also have a very attractive Indie & Student programme - If you qualify, your first 100,000 MAUs per month are completely free!

Getting Started with GameSparks - https://docs.gamesparks.com/getting-started/ Multiplayer - https://docs.gamesparks.com/tutorials/multiplayer/ IAPs - https://docs.gamesparks.com/tutorials/currencies--virtual-goods-and-achievements/ Databases - https://docs.gamesparks.com/tutorials/database-access-and-cloud-storage/

If you have any questions about using GameSparks, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our support team via - https://support.gamesparks.net/support/home - we'd be more than happy to help!

Best of luck in your project! Clare
