Best Practices - How to move a character (not necessarily player)
Hello! I've been having some trouble lately with moving my character
In my particular case, I have a character that has a "greetings" animation, in which it waves the hand to the player, and then the character should rotate 90° and start walking forward. My walking animations stay in place, so "apply root motion" is off in the inspector. I made a 90° rotation animation but as soon as it finishes, the character returns to the original rotation
Questions:
Should I use "apply root motion" so that the rotation animation does modify the transform's rotation? In this case, my walking and idle animations are in the original rotation, so the character doesn't actually rotate the 90° because
If I decide to not use root motion, then should I rotate via code?
Which one is the best practice? Am I doing things well?
Thanks a lot!
