Mecanim: getting the gameobject to follow the motion while climbing?

Hi, I'm kind of a beginner when it comes to mecanim, and I am wondering if I could get my gameobject which is the same as the animator to follow the motion when my character is climbing?

You just need to check the "Apply Root Motion" box on your Animator component and then you're probably good to go. here you can learn more about root motion. I'd strongly recommend reading all of it! if you're using Mecanim

However if you wanna implement some sort of ledge climbing mechanic I urge you to use Target Matching because making a climbing system without IK is veeeery hard.
