Isometric game : 2D or 3D project?
My question is self explanatory : I want to make an isometric game using Unity. I read pros and cons about it, but no clear answer.
The main things are :
- Isn't 2D game to complex to handle with layer sorting, or can it be easy to manipulate tile placement without much trouble? - 3D game rendering wouldn't be useless to make isometric, and can i just have 3d components (like my tile) but still put a 2d sprite on top of it (a character) and still having the camera in 3d not messing everything up?
I simply want to use 2d sprite, as i don't want to learn 3d modelling.
I feel like my question is stupid, but i'm not sure how to start things off, and i don't want to realize in the middle of my programming that I didn't started well.
I am new to unity, but understand its basics.
I am advanced in C# knowledge.
