Obsolete Tutorials?,Obsolete Tutorials
,So, I'm getting started with Unity, and for that I've been watching Unity"s tutorials. I already understood most of its interface and I'm not actually new to coding either, but I don't know how to write C# codes yet. Here's the problem: Most of the scripting tutorials I've been seeing are obsolete and the codes shown do not work in my version (2017.3). Am I doing something wrong or the codes there are actually too old? How can I learn scripting in C#? And, to avoid further problems: Which of Unity's tutorials do you think might still be useful?

Unity has a pretty good documentation section. I would do the old tutorials and then resort to the Documentation for the changes on what doesn't compile. That will give you a good understanding of what you are doing as well. If you know how to code and just need to learn Mono and how unity does things and the interface then those tutorials will definitely help for sure. http://brackeys.com/ also has some great tutorials but they are more geared toward beginners.
Definitely agreed; the few problems I had with Unity tutorials ended up providing good experience with both C#, the editor itself, and the Unity API.

Good day.
Scripting in C# has never changed, what changes are some libraries of Unity, so some funciton names, the way to use them, some get obsolete and replaced... but you should be able to know what you need at:
Unity APIs page where every functionis always up to date. (even you can look for oldest versions).
The Unity VideoTutorials for almost everything, and completed projects.
For specific questions/problems you have This forum, Unity Answers.
And then of course you have Youtubers and blogs, but as you said, they will be not always up to date.
If helpped, accept the answer!!
Bye :D
