IOS and Android App devopment - Two projects or one?
Hello, I'm new to Unity (only downloaded last night!).
I have been in discussions with a developer about an app I have in mind for both IOS and Android. I was of the understanding that, with Unity, you can create a project that has the ability to be used on multiple platforms, although there may be some minor tweaking for each operating system. This should mean you can take advantage of economies of scale by not having to produce different projects for each operating system, therefore potentially reducing costs.
For my project, the developer quoted me $20-25k for IOS, then an additional $20-$25 for Android. When I question the pricing strategy as per my thoughts on Unity above, the developer replied "the is not correct, development on IOS is completely different to Android and virtually double the work overall. The Unity component would be the basis but overall development still needs to be done on each operating system"
Does this sound reasonable, or is the developer taking me for a ride?
Thanks.
