Workflow for Cinema4d and Mecanim
Hi all,
We are struggling trying to find the right way to export animations from cinema4d to Mecanim. If anyone can share their experience that would be great. Currently, we have a character (modeled in 3ds max with a Biped riiging) that we animate in Cinema4d. Exporting to FBX works fine but when we import it to Unity (2017) it imports not only the animation file, but also the mesh and the avatar. So far so good but... what if we want to have multiple c4d projects for creating multiple re-usable animations, that ideally we could re-use for many characters? Basically we want to have N characters, and M animations, and be able to have each of the N use each of the M at will.
1- How should we export animations only to unity? Is the T-Pose the key to all of that? It is not clear.
2- Any middleware we should use between cinema4d and Unity?
Basically: How do you guys do this?
