Clothing and 3D models
Hello,
I was playing around with a 3D low poly model today and I was thinking how wold adding clothing that can be changed in Unity?
Would the model have 100s of variants of the rigged model with various clothing, armour, and weapons on it so it is all rigged? Or is each item of clothing rigged and then the parts placed together in unity to form a complete model?
The clothing items would need to be rigged as how would it move.
I remember working on a simple system a few years back but all I did was equipping and equipping a helmet. Not much rigging need with a helmet as it was just being made a child of the head.
With 2D it would need each sprite with each variant of clothing. But when it comes to 3D models how is this handled?
Thank you.

No need to apologize. I'm glad I bookmarked it long ago and could help others by providing it.
