Error building Player because scripts had compiler errors - Nothing else given
Hi All, What steps can be taken when a build fails but gives no reason?
Error building Player because scripts had compiler errors
Build completed with a result of 'Failed'
UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent(Int32, IntPtr)
UnityEditor.BuildPlayerWindow+BuildMethodException: Error building Player because scripts had compiler errors
at UnityEditor.BuildPlayerWindow+DefaultBuildMethods.BuildPlayer (BuildPlayerOptions options) [0x0020e] in C:\buildslave\unity\build\Editor\Mono\BuildPlayerWindowBuildMethods.cs:181
at UnityEditor.BuildPlayerWindow.CallBuildMethods (Boolean askForBuildLocation, BuildOptions defaultBuildOptions) [0x00065] in C:\buildslave\unity\build\Editor\Mono\BuildPlayerWindowBuildMethods.cs:88
UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent(Int32, IntPtr)
I have previously fixed this problem with the following, but have tried them with no success this time.
Close/Open Unity
Remove the Temp Folder
Reopen, and look for Errors/Warnings given only when first launching the project Re-Import All
Run "Reimport All"
Are there any others to try?

In this case the error could only be found in the Unity Editor LogFile . Searching it for "error" revealed a problem hidden amongst the Warnings.
Wow, searched dozens of threads for my error in the console. Finally found this comment, looked in the Editor.log and found the exact problem. (Stray using T$$anonymous$$Pro.EditorUtilities.)
Yes! I kept getting "API Update Required" then generic fail over and over. Was a stray using UnityEditor.Animations;
that wasn't even actually used. Showed up in the log but not in the console.
