How do I make text selectable to highlight?

I'm beginning work on a project for a client that is essentially a web comic player with dialogue text included. My client wants their readers to be able to select and highlight the text to read it as if they're reading it on any html web page. Is there an easy way for me to mimic the highlight function of html text? I would like the process to be as close to it's web page counterpart as possible.
