Post processing camera effect
Hi, I want to use a camera effect in my game but I have never used camera effects before and I like to program it myself. The only thing that need to happen is that the renderd image need to have a color correction based on the distance from the player to a certain room. Does anyone know where I need to start? Should I use a render texture or write a shader, I truly don't know. Thanks in advance.
Unity 5x now does all this for you. Simply import the effects package, then add what you like to the camera ( Assets > Import Package > Effects ). $$anonymous$$anual Link Unity Training Link
You could check these scripts and/or download the unity built-in shaders to see how to approach a specific desired effect. In the forums there is a shader section. Good Luck.
Image effects use render textures to take the base image, and shaders to manipulate them. In short, you need both if you want any kind of good performance.
