Mecanim and double animations for a FPS
Hello. I am new to Unity4 (trialing the pro version) and testing the fantastic Mecanim system. I was thinking to adopt Mecanim for my first person shooter.
My question is (sorry, English isn't my native language, I'll try my best to explain the problem): I create animations such as run, walk, idle and so on. Of course this animations will "move" all the body parts such as feet, legs and arms. Then I create animations such as shoot, reload, launch grenade, etc. Now, how can I make the two "category" of animations blend together?
In a first moment I tought of Mecanim Blend Tree but I don't know if they will blend*. Am I heading in the right way?
Thanks you in advance.
*ahaha, please no joke on this :D

Layers, the same as the "Hi!" from the demo, create a new layer that doesn't affect feet motion, I mean that only affects arms motion, what you want from a shoot animation is probably just pull the trigger and maybe some recoil
