Multiplayer servers for free
Hi guys, I wanted to know if anyone knows how to use unity to make multiplayer servers for free. I checked out unity's system and I don't have the money to pay 200$ a month for a project like this.
This depends on your application. In case you only have a simple and small game with not so many clients then you could just dedicate the "masterClient" to be a server. Thus not creating a player figure but just to handle the other clients actions. I used PhotonNetworking for my project wich gives you a lot of options in a rather simple way for up to 20 players simultaniously in your game. If you want more you have to pay.
you can setup PORT FORWARING on about any home router. then you set your desktop to request the same local address under your network adapter settings. if you google a tutorial you can pry figure it out and set it up in about an hour. then you just run your server at home. after your game makes it's first 200 bucks, then buy space elsewhere!

Peer 2 Peer is the best option, since you dont have to host a server for that. But that doesnt really work when you host for a lot of people.
