Unity game growth service

I am not sure if I got the idea of the program clear. Joining the program of game growth service it's free. Unity advertises the game and does not charge me for that. However, 50% of my earning goes to Unity?

Also, Can I lose money in this program? I mean if unity can't get back the money they invested.
