is it possible to access the IOS file system
Hello, i'm trying to build an app that accesses medical image files on a user's ipad, and displays them. however, i read in post #3 of this thread:
https://forum.unity.com/threads/native-file-browser-with-filter.405757/
that it is not even possible to access the file system of an IOS device? is this true? i can access most of the files on my android device (not all unfortunately, and it also works in osx and windows.
thanks
iOS is very tied down, so even though that link is from 2013, it still applies (and may be even worse now than then).
However, consider where the medical images come from. See if there is a way for your app to get them from the 'net, or some other server.
For example, images in the gallery are served as an asset, with a kind of URL.
Look into iOS documentation of ALAssetLibrary, see if the images you're interested in are there, and work out how to get them.
