Camera view of planet not working

hi;

I'm not sure if there's a way to fix this, or if my textures/ materials aren't hi res enough, however, when I view a sphere i made ( just a gameObject) with an earth panorama as a material ( I want it to act as a planet), however fiddle/position the camera, the sphere is distorted and almost pixelated. In the 3d/ edit view, the sphere looks great but for some reason in game view it looks horrible. What am i doing wrong!?!?!?!?
