Unable to add Microsoft.VCLibs.120.SDKReference in Unity3D Windows Phone 8.1 App
I'm using windows 8.1 and I'm trying to add Microsoft.VCLibs.120.SDKReference in VS2015 Professional for windows phone 8.1 app. My project is exported from Unity3D. But as soon as I open the exported Unity3D project in Visual studio. I get the warning that 'Microsoft visual c++ runtime package for windows could not be found. And when I try to build the project the same warning turns into compile time error. So when I tried to find that 'Microsoft VClibs SDK' in directories of my system, I found the one in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.1\ExtensionSDKs\Microsoft.VCLibs\12.0. I have tried following things after that:
Tried to reference a file name SDK_Manifest.xml to references but it gave me some error like this: 'A reference to SDKManifest could not be added please make sure the file is accessible and an valid assembly or COM project'
I tried to install the sdk manually via Package Manager Console via command, i.e. Install-Package Microsoft.VCLibs.120.SDKReference -Pre but it gave me error like: "Could not install package 'Microsoft.VCLibs.120.SDKReference 1.0.0-alpha03'. You are trying to install this package into a project that targets 'WindowsPhoneApp,Version=v8.1', but the package does not contain any assembly references or content files that are compatible with that framework. For more information, contact the package author."
I copy and pasted the whole ExtensionSDKs folder into C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\WindowsPhoneApp\v8.1\, then the 'referenced warning' just disappeared but when I deployed the solution on device it failed, stating the error something like 'the current sdk supports unknown OS, which is not supported, you need to install MVClib SDK for windows phone 8.1'.
Kindly help me to get through this frustrating issue :( Regards.
