Exporting from 3DSMax 8...
I'm trying to export a character from 3DSMax 8 to unity. I tried exporting it as a FBX file but when it becomes animated the character becomes warped and bent in odd direction. Is my importer out of date? Where can I get a update for it?

I had a similar problem, but it has nothing to do with your version of max. I think the problem might be that you have made the actual FBX import scale to 1 instead of .01, what you need to do if you haven't allready is change all of the animations scale to 1, this should work.
if it doesn't work just say, and i'll see what i can do for you.
I changed the scale to 1 and it still didn't work. I'm using the newest version of unity.
All I can think of is that something went wrong when you exported the animations, you could try re-exporting them.
