Terrain really bright for no reason
I don't know how this happened but my terrain is really bright. It doesn't matter what texture I add:
The rest of my scene's lighting is normal. And it's not just my project, it does this in all my projects now. I have one directional light with lightmaps and my ambient light is set to light grey.
Did you manipulate the terrain via script, in any way?
What kind of shader are you using on the material for the terrain?
Is your directional light pointing straight down? If yes, rotate it slightly and see if it begins to make a difference.

I have a same problem, just go to Player Settings > Other Settings , change Color Space from Gamma to Linear.
I was having the same problem with an imported character. Rachan's suggestion fixed it for me, thx!
And, just in case anybody didn't know where player settings was, it's under File->Build Settings
Same problem. Finally my terrain has complete black spots. Player Settings can also be found in Edit > Project Settings > Player.
This helped but what really helped me was lowering Environment Lighting intensity multiplier, under lighting settings. I opted to leave it as gamma as I found it looks better than linear.

go to edit>render settings and check if Ambient Light is yellowish
Did you read the last bit of my question? $$anonymous$$y ambient light is set to light grey.
Yes. I made a new project. That was all. I couldn't fix it in the current project :/

The issue is probably the project settings - I had the same problem after importing an asset which changed them.
If anyone comes across the same issue in future, check your Rendering Path and Color Space at Build Settings > Player Settings > Other Settings.

I am having this same issue now. My terrain is mostly yellow/orange. I have looked at my player settings and I'm still using "Forward" rendering path with "Gamma" color space. Nothing should have changed. I've tried different shaders and materials. I've also tried re-doing my global illumination lighting settings. Nothing seems to work so far.
I've tried messing with my directional light settings, and yes the color of light is yellowish-white, but darkening the color does not fix the problem.
I recently upgraded from a Unity 5 beta version to the Unity 5.0.1 full version (personal edition). And that's when I started having this problem. I'm not sure whats causing it.
