What causes "Determining assets that need to be reimported for target platform" upon starting?
Frequently when I open my main project, before the Unity editor starts and displays a scene, I get 2 loading bars, first "Determining assets that need to be reimported for target platform" followed by "Calculating asset hashes". These usually take 5-10 minutes to complete.
I am using a Windows system, with the Unity Editor installed on my system drive (SSD), my projects are on a separate HDD. I'm not sure if maybe this has to do with it?
I would really like know why this is happening and how I can avoid it! I don't use any other platforms besides Windows.
I have the same problem. For me it takes half hour to 45 $$anonymous$$utes, probably because I have a lot of assets in my project. Is there a preference option I can pick to do this when I import the assets ins$$anonymous$$d of at build time?
