Offset transformer when I import mesh?

Hey guys, im having a trouble with blender randomly lately and I cant figure out how to work around it. From blender I used to export as a fbx file and then it would work great in my project, however if it was animated the mesh would not appear in the scene. So I changed to just importing blender files on there own, however now when I import the file as just .blend the imported char now has an offset point away from the main mesh then has been dragged onto the scene? Thanks in advance, (if anyone knows how to overcome the fbx problem anyway that would also be very helpful as I normally work within fbx files.)

edit: Actually ive fixed the fbx problem by downloading the fbx converter from the autodesk site however im still getting this annoying offset transformer which the model decides to have its centre set as
