How to add drag to particles when object moves?
Hi,
I have a game object ~ a sphere.
There is a simple particle system attached.
the game object moves around.
the particles move along with the game object.
Q:
I would like the particles to have a drag when the object moves. In the opposite direction as if they were being effected or slowed like you would expect of something moving in a normal atmosphere. Then when the object stops moving, or slows down, the drag goes away.
I can set the particles simulation space to world, and the inherit velocity values to make the particles move along with the object, but it creates a very long tail like effect. I just want the particles to be slightly effected and i cant get what I want with these settings.
any suggestions would be great.
thanks.
Not exactly understand your issue of "long tail effect". If the particles drag too far away, you just reduce the inherit speed multiplier to decimal like -0.1. You would also use "speed scale" ins$$anonymous$$d of "length scale" for your stretched billboard particles, something like -0.05, but it depends on the size of your game object and particle start size.
