Question by haxpor · Feb 07, 2013 at 08:34 AM · license

What is the best approach to purchase Unity license for multiple devs?

The situation is I'm working with one another of my team. We're looking forward to purchase Unity Pro license along with iOS and Android license as well.

But with the fact that we're working on as a team, and it's more flexible for one another to be able to parallel working on the tool in Unity or add more code, debug stuff, on an on (not to mention if both of us need to access to Pro features at his own machine). I knew that the agreement is to have only 2 installs for "one" person on different machine. I don't want to break the rule to do purchasing one and install also on different machine for another developer if there's no better and suitable option.

So what's the best approach on using Unity for multiple developers working together?

You both need to buy a license. It's that simple, unfortunately.

"So what's the best approach on using Unity for multiple developers working together?"

Every single developer, in the universe, works with other developers.

You may as well ask "I'll be working with other people - will I need to buy a Mac?!?" Heh.

Consider - say I asked you "Well I'll be working with other people, do I need to buy Unity?"

The answer can only be "well of course."

Technically Unity's hack protection is basically unbeatable, since it all works live constantly, so it's not even worth bothering trying to find a hack.

Don't forget you are utterly welcome to use the Free version. (You are completely free to make money from the free version .. some people misunderstand this.)

@Fattie, Just one more tiny question, it relates to my original question. Is there anything like Studio License or purchase as a company or studio? So how such a studio chooses to pursue its purchasing for lots of developers there.
