Problem with shadows gives shadow to whole plane
I am following the beginner tutorial for the roll a ball game and its the first video and he sets a directional light I have no problems until he changes the shadow type. on his screen the ball gets a shadow and the plane stay white on my screen when I change the shadow type it darkens everything including the whole plane I checked everything and it's exactly what he did
providing a snapshot will be helpful. Also, what type of shadows are u doing?
The directional light - are you sure you rotated it to face the scene? Rotating it away might cause the behaviour you describe.
I tried rotating it but it still makes everything gray I put soft shadows and high resolution I tried changing everything I could but nothing worked I did everything exactly the way the video told me as soon as a change the shadow type from no shadow to something else it gives the ball a shadow but at darkens everything

Its is most probably that you have the directional like facing upwards slightly , try rotating it.

check light intensity.... see if the screenshot helps... the light should also be pointing towards the scene as in the screenshot
