"headless" problems on CentOS 6.4 server
Now that Unity 4.2 supports the new "headless" mode I was excited to try it out on a Linux server running locally. However, I am having trouble getting it to run. My command line is as follows:
./lobby.x86 -batchmode -nographics -logFile lobby_log.txt
It fails immediately. The error I'm getting is this:
./lobby.x86: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.14' not found (required by ./lobby.x86)
I'm running the latest version of CentOS 6.4, and there are no further updates available for gcc, meaning that GLIBCXX_3.4.14 is not supported by CentOS 6.4. I do have GLIBCXX_3.4.13, but not 3.4.14.
Has anyone gotten a build working under CentOS 6.4 in "headless" mode? If so, how did you do it? :)
After some further research, it seems that CentOS is not really supported by Unity. I'm pretty sure this problem could be resolved by manually updating gcc to a newer version, but this could have other negative effects on CentOS. I think I'm going to take the path of least resistance... I'm going to install Ubuntu Server ins$$anonymous$$d of CentOS, since Ubuntu is officially supported by Unity.
Did you get this to run on your Ubuntu install? We just ran into the same wall you're describing with CentOS, very interested in if you ever got it up and running...
Sounds promising. For some reason we can't get it running though, would you $$anonymous$$d looking at our thread about it and see if you recognize anything from your setup? Thanks!

I just responded to your thread. Try using "-nographics" as an additional argument.
