Unity ARKit Remote not starting session

Question

I've followed the tutorial in the ARKit plugin docs to set up ARKit Remote, and the app is running on my device, the player is connected, but when I press "Start Remote ARKit Session" nothing happens. Nothing appears in the console or the game window.

What have I done wrong?
