Cloud Build -Android missing text files
Hi,
I've started using cloud build recently but I noticed it the APK that it creates has some issues, the main one being that my game can no longer read text files.
My game depends on using a text file that contains all the data for each level. I'm not sure why this isn't working, I've ensured all meta files are tracked, tried changing the asset serialization but no success so far.
Does anyone know anyway to get this to work as expected?
Thanks,
Sam
Where is the file? If in Resources/Strea$$anonymous$$gAssets folder then it should go. If you have it anywhere else, then Unity is likely to ignore it since you do not really refer to it in your code. You may have access with File.Read(path); but that is not registered in meta file by Unity so it ignores it.
Actually your best shot (in my opinion), would be to store the file on a server (Github for instance, easy and free). Then you download the file on start. This even allows to tweak without rebuilding.
