Question by ajsolent · Aug 05, 2013 at 09:18 PM · surfaceplaymakerpropertywheel collider

'Set property' for wheel colliders, cannot find stiffness

I want to change the stiffness property of my wheel colliders, for when they touch a different ground surface. But, using Playmaker (I can't get my head around scipting), when I try to set the property for the wheel colliders there is no option to change stiffness. There are many other options, though, so I'm guessing that stiffness is derived from these.

So, how would I change stiffness from this menu?

I think you are looking for WheelCollider.forwardFriction.stiffness and WheelCollider.sidewaysFriction.stiffness. See are both WheelFrictionCurves.

Thank you for the answer, but I can't see this in the menu... I can only access some of the variables on this page. They are brakeTorque, center, mass, motorTorque, radius, steerAngle, suspensionDistance.

I don't know Playmaker, so I'm not sure how you get access. You could write a script and interface Playmaker with the script. I'm converting my answer to a comment since it did not solve your problem.

Nevermind, it appears that it was a problem with Playmaker. I have fixed the problem now!
