Monodevelop does not launch (Unity 4.5.5f1)

Basically. when I double click on a script, Monodevelop.exe can be seen running in the task manager, but the icon is not shown on both the taskbar and toolbar. The process then disappears after a few seconds.

I have also found the log file for Monodevelop, which contains a lot of errors. The log file can be found below:

I have tried most of the solutions that were on the web, all of which did not help with my problem. I have also tried doing a clean reinstall of Unity but to no avail.
