Exporting model animation without bones!!
Hi, my question is regarding how animations is stored when the models are exported. I would like to use bones to animate my characters (using Maya & Max), but don't want the bones to be exported together with the model and animation. Could the animations be stored within the mesh, allowing me to delete all bones?
I don't quite understand your question. $$anonymous$$esh animation in Unity always uses bones to deter$$anonymous$$e how the animation will work- you can't have an animation without bones, that's like having an alphabet without letters! Why do you need to delete the bones? They don't have any components on them other than transforms, and exist only as a symbolic means to modify a skinned mesh renderer.

This is a shot in the dark, but i think you can try baking the animations, if possible of course
